When the Telework Exchange Spring Town Hall Meeting is held on April 28, 2011, at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C., the technology practices and solutions that underpin successful telework initiatives will be front and center.
The one-day program, including the keynote addresses and the management track, will tackle the larger theme of "Work Smart. Save Big." The technology sessions will provide insight into how government agencies can leverage the latest tools to expand telework opportunities, boost productivity, and enable continuity of government business, while staying on budget.
The Spring Town Hall Meeting will host three technology sessions as follows:
- High Tech. Low Cost. Wide Reach. – Attendees will hear from telework practitioners on how to evaluate and choose cost-effective technologies that enable expanded, secure access for the remote workforce, and how to extend agency business continuity capabilities
- Smart Solutions: Technologies that Promote Productivity and Accessibility – This session will offer specific guidance to help agencies identify the bottlenecks that may present obstacles to effective teleworker computing, as well as methodologies to select and introduce collaboration tools that support increased productivity
- Evaluating Telework Technology Investments – Telework technologists will cover approaches for establishing effective measures using new and available tools to monitor a remote infrastructure, as well as tips for setting realistic, attainable ROI goals for telework solutions
As in previous Town Hall Meetings, technology track discussions will feature front-line IT solutions and security experts, including chief information officers (CIOs) and chief information security officers (CISOs) of agencies that are leading the way in the design and practice of effective, productive telework programs, as well as industry professionals with their finger on the pulse of the latest telework-enabling tools.
